THE REGAL
20,200 DWT international deep sea, 14 knots, 4 hold, self trimming bulk carrier, equipped with MAN B&W two stroke diesel engine, 3 sets of hydraulic level luffing cranes with provision for grabs, and hydraulically operated end folding hatch covers.
BASIS OF THE REGAL DESIGN
The design features of the REGAL vessels have been developed through research and consultations with many internationally prominent and successful clients. The latest trends in type, parcel size and trade in international deep sea transportation, the latest trends in shipboard manning practices, latest regulations governing pollution, ballast management, safety and communications have been incorporated in the REGAL design.

CHARACTERISTICS OF "REGAL" SERIES
The following major characteristics shall be applied:
Worldwide transportation including Panama and Suez Canals. Main engine driven draft generator eliminating diesel oil consumption at sea
Wide hatch opening (> 59 % of beam)   Plate coolers for central cooling system
Self trimming grain loading European style accommodation with attached/twin-shared toilets for all ship crew.
Ample cargo hold stowage factor of 42 cub. ft/lt at designed draught condition Cargo temperature measurement facilities
Flexibility of carrying various cargoes such as Corrosion-prevention features: Sacrificial anodes in tanks
  - Dry bulk and break bulk such as grain, metal concentrates, coal, iron ore, bauxite, salt, sugar, cement in bags and scrap metal Under deck pipe/cable trunks
  - General cargoes such as steel products, forest products, packaged freight and palletized cargo Minimal use of HTS
  - Long cargoes such as pipes, bagged cargoes, packaged lumber and deck cargoes Good level of redundancy of critical equipment
Strengthened for heavy cargoes – cargo hold tank top is strengthened for grab handling Embodies anticipated future legislation requirements
Tank top strength 20.0 t/m2 Fuel efficient hull form
Cargo hatch cover uniform load of 2.0 t/m2 Designed and constructed for long reliable service and optimum life-cycle cost
Other characteristics: Strengthened against slamming at light ballast draft – less frequent use of ballast hold
Provision for installation of a fourth crane (if required). “B” type freeboard – Drier decks in loaded condition
Centralized fresh water cooling system in engine room Inmarsat C and full GMDSS application
